Around sixty homes join as future clients of Andorra la Vella’s heating network

Three new buildings, with some sixty homes, have recently signed contracts to join Andorra la Vella’s heating network which is in full development. The new buildings join The White Angel, which was the first private client to contract this new, cleaner and more sustainable heating and hot water system. In addition, some public buildings, such as the Centre Esportiu dels Serradells are supplied with this system.
The Andorra la Vella's heating network provides heating and hot water from the Centre de Tractament de Residus and makes use of heat from waste recovery, which wasn't been used until now. All the thermal energy supplied is clean and emission-free.
FEDA Ecoterm already has a total of 230 homes that have signed the contract to connect to the heating network. As constructions continue, potential customers may be more interested in cleaner and more sustainable alternatives than diesel and electricity.
Cogeneration is a strategic area for FEDA Ecoterm, which is committed to offering a more sustainable heating alternative. This centralised heating system is a reality in Soldeu. The project of la Comella goes even further thanks to the use of thermal energy that's not being used until now. The saving in CO2 emissions from la Comella will represent around 6,700 tonnes of CO2 per year, which is the equivalent of emissions from 3,500 vehicles per year.
